A musical performance of Yemeni women’s songs in contemporary arrangements, on September 2, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Center for Eastern Music.
The songs of Yemenite women have almost disappeared into the depths of time. The groundbreaking musical ensemble “Banat al-Yaman – Daughters of Yemen” brings together Israeli women creators who join forces as a vocal ensemble, singing the traditional songs of Yemenite women in contemporary arrangements.
The ensemble has performed on stages and at festivals throughout the country and has received much acclaim. In 2023, the ensemble received artistic recognition from the Ministry of Culture as an ensemble representing the traditional singing of Yemenite women.
