The Laughing Bomb That Conquered France—Now in a New Version!
It was supposed to be a pleasant Parisian evening at home with family and friends. Élisabeth has prepared a special meal for everyone’s enjoyment: Pierre, her husband, a literature professor; Vincent, her brother, who has finally found the woman of his dreams, Anna, and is soon to become a father; and their best friend, Claude, a trombone player.
Above them all hovers the loving shadow of the family’s mother, who lives far away in the countryside and envelops them with love and generosity. But the evening develops in a completely different direction, and none of those present will ever forget it.
It begins with a game organized by Vincent, the father-to-be, in which everyone is asked to guess the first name he has chosen for his unborn child.
A witty and surprising play. The play is currently enjoying tremendous success in Paris and has also been made into a film. Its two authors are among France’s leading satirists, regularly writing for French television.
