Gallery talk and panel in English on curating architecture in the Anthropocene, at the Liebling House in Tel Aviv. The event includes a guided tour of the exhibition.
What is the role of exhibitions, curators, and architects in an era of climate crisis and ongoing uncertainty? Can an exhibition transcend the boundaries of representation and create change in the way we think, plan, and act in space?
The event will be held in English and moderated by the exhibition’s curators, Friedrich von Borries and Sabrina Cagala.
The curators of the exhibition “Future Heritage,” Friedrich von Borries and Sabrina Cagala, will host Stefan Trüby and Galit Gaon for a conversation about curating architecture in the Anthropocene—an era in which questions of construction, nature, culture, architectural heritage, representation, imagination, and responsibility are no longer separate, but intertwined.
The event takes place as part of the exhibition “Future Heritage,” a collective research project born from a dialogue with 28 local architects. The project proposes rethinking architecture itself: the role of the architect, architecture, its modes of representation, and the ways in which it is mediated and understood.
In the absence of models, plans, or renderings, the exhibition seeks to examine how it is possible to curate not only objects, but also spaces of discourse, relationships, memories, and shared futures.
The conversation will examine the possibilities and limitations of curating architecture, the aesthetics of crisis, and the possibility of imagining not only a future reality, but perhaps also laying the foundations for reshaping it.
The evening will begin with a short tour of the exhibition led by the curators, followed by a panel discussion in English.
