Gallery Talk at the exhibitions "The Almost Universal" and "Tears Turn into Rain"

Almost Universal / Igor Revelis

A large-scale screening of the video work Almost Universal is at the center of a solo exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Igor Revelis (Klone), a painter, muralist, animator, video artist and more.

Revelis obsessively documents universal experiences, knowing that they are “not unique,” such as sunsets, birds in flight and airplanes. These scenes are transformed into almost magical and unique phenomena as a result of their being “far” from the viewer.

The video work is seen as a world of stimuli and thoughts, as a stream of consciousness, offering a glimpse into his way of thinking. A living collage of images slowly moves above, between and below each other, passing, disappearing and returning, as if locked in limbo. Various video clips, seemingly unrelated to each other, are presented on a stable, grid-like structure that points to an organizing principle that is constant and standing within the experience and images of others.

Tears Turn to Rain / Neta Mozes

In the solo exhibition of media artist Neta Mozes, three main works refer to the space of Teddy Stadium, the new gallery space located within it, and the relationship between the two.

The video work As Long As the LED is On (Outside) It Can Be Fix, intended for the LED sign surrounding the roof of the stadium, consists of a collection of sentences in Hebrew and English combined with video and animation clips that “ran” across the LED sign, and its documentation is presented in the exhibition. The sentences range from the poetic and personal to the everyday, containing comforting and even humorous messages in these difficult times. The work As Long As the LED is On (Inside) It Can Be Fix continues the theme in the gallery.

The video installation Tears Turn to Rain explores the relationship between the two spaces, the stadium and the gallery, and challenges the perception of their dimensions, also concerning the human scale. The installation is primarily based on images that the artist has projected onto the stadium's east stand adjacent to the gallery, as a kind of attempt to connect the two spaces or, alternatively, to break down the physical barrier between them. Moses' camera journey seeks the potential of consciousness to expand beyond and beyond the physical body, and the viewer is invited to sit in the video room and immerse themselves in the virtual and real space with her.
