A musical-drama program about Vysotsky, with songs and film excerpts.
We present a musical and dramatic program by Anna Glanz-Margulis and Ruslan Barabanov dedicated to Vladimir Vysotsky.
Vysotsky the poet, Vysotsky the actor, Vysotsky—the hero of film and theater.
Through songs, scenes, and dialogues from films and plays, we encounter not a monument to the great artist, but a living person—and an entire world of his characters: in love and desperate, funny and tragic, daring, lonely, unable to live by halves.
The program combines Vysotsky’s songs with excerpts from the films in which he appeared: Vertical, The Intervention, The Master of the Taiga, Dangerous Tours, The Only One, The Flight of Mr. McKinley, and Brief Encounters.
From irony and mischief to love, loneliness, freedom, fate, and a person’s conversation with himself.
This is neither a biographical concert nor an attempt to “play Vysotsky.” It is a journey through his artistic world—to where a song becomes a little play, a film continues onstage, and familiar lines suddenly sound as if they were spoken today.
Price: 100 shekels, cash at the venue.
