Literary and Musical Evening Based on Mikhail Gurdzhi’s Book “In the Land of Smiles and Sorrow”

Moomin House in Gedera presents:

Theater and film actor Evgeny Kulakov and virtuoso guitarist Emil Khachatryan in a literary and musical evening based on a book by Mikhail Gurdzhi.

The collection of short stories consists of true stories that come together to form a colorful mosaic of Israeli life—with its irony and pain, smiles and tears, family dramas and unexpected twists of fate.

With a subtle sense of humor and deep compassion for human weaknesses, the author shows how loneliness is often hidden behind laughter, while behind tears lies an undying Jewish love of life.

Evgeny Kulakov’s acting will bring the pages of the book to life, helping the audience hear the characters’ voices and feel their personalities and experiences.

Mikhail Gurdzhi will also read his stories himself, allowing the audience to hear the author’s voice and sense his personal intonation.

Emil Khachatryan’s music will become an emotional continuation of the literary narrative, adding depth and lyricism.
