A bittersweet comedy at Tmuna Theatre, Tel Aviv. A comedy about a wedding that turns into a nightmare and workers locked inside a warehouse amid local chaos.
A bitter comedy holding up a mirror to the local chaos: a parable about people trying to survive in the harsh Israeli reality, and about the moment when everything is about to fall apart. Everyone is waiting for Leon’s daughter’s wedding, but at the “Leon Shoes” branch, the celebration turns into a nightmare even before the ceremony.
Inside a small shoe store in the periphery, preparations for the glittering event become a pressure cooker of passions and power struggles. The routine is finally disrupted when uninvited guests from the underworld invade the store. While the owner tries to maneuver between a wedding suit and a criminal threat, the employees remain “locked” inside a storeroom where the class hierarchy is overturned and boundaries become blurred. “Locked” is a bitter comedy holding up a mirror to the local chaos. A parable about people trying to survive in the harsh Israeli reality, and about the moment when everything is about to fall apart—on the very day that was supposed to be festive, the most festive of all.
