The play “Worm” will take place on October 16–17, 2026, at the Little Theater in Tel Aviv. An intimate psychological drama about family trauma and love.
The Berlin International Drama Theater IBDT, in collaboration with the Small Theater (Tel Aviv), presents the play The Worm. Based on the works of Shamai Golan, The Worm is an intimate psychological drama.
The events unfold in Israel in the mid-1980s. The main characters are a man whose childhood was overshadowed by the horrors of the ghetto and the loss of his entire family in a concentration camp, and his wife, with whom he has spent thirty years. During a festive family dinner, they try for the first time to speak openly about what has long been left unspoken.
The play The Worm addresses the pain of postwar life, the consequences of unresolved trauma, love in the face of the inability to draw close to someone dear, and an inner conflict that continues for decades. It is the story of a man who once “died” and went on living for a very long time afterward. The story is permeated with fear, memories, love, and the search for light where it is almost invisible.
The leading role is performed by the renowned actor and director Alexander Bargman.
