Jaffa SYNC Festival – The Live Soundtracks Festival in Old Jaffa
October 14, 21, and 28

The Live Soundtracks Festival in Old Jaffa returns for a second, especially dazzling edition, celebrating the two things we love most in the world: music and cinema!

This year: we embark on a journey between three of the world’s largest, most exciting, and influential cities—New York, Berlin, and Tokyo—with Jaffa as the meeting point of them all.

Over three evenings in October, cinematic masterpieces that are nearly a century old will be screened under the open sky, accompanied by original, contemporary soundtracks performed live by leading local creators.

Cinema of the past, sound of the present, and the big city at the center. Because the city is not merely a backdrop: it is rhythm, movement, bustle, loneliness, and chance encounters. And each evening, we will hear it differently.

October 14 | New York

DJ Mash and a band performing a hip-hop soundtrack for Paul Fejos’s film Lonesome. A love story between two young people amid the crowd and dizzying rhythm of New York. A soundtrack that will take the Roaring Twenties of the Big Apple and connect them to the beats and sound that have become an inseparable part of the city’s identity.

October 21 | Berlin

Oterki and Tzemach performing a soundtrack for Walter Ruttmann’s Berlin: Symphony of a Great City. A mesmerizing journey through one day in the life of Berlin, in which the streets, machines, and ceaseless movement become a cinematic symphony. The two will take the industrial rhythm of 1920s Berlin and translate it into an electronic, urban, pulsating soundtrack.

October 28 | Tokyo

Sefi Zisling and a jazz quartet performing a soundtrack for I Failed, But... by Yasujiro Ozu, one of Japan’s greatest directors. A comedy about young people, friendship, and aspirations in 1930s modern Tokyo. Sefi and the band will bring together the lives of the young people on screen with the freedom, groove, and spontaneity of jazz.

All evenings begin at 21:00.
