New York Enters SYNC
Jaffa SYNC, the live soundtrack festival in Old Jaffa, returns for its second and dazzling edition—and this year takes us on a journey between three major cities: New York, Berlin, and Tokyo, with Jaffa as the meeting point.
We begin in New York: DJ Mesh with a live hip-hop soundtrack for Paul Fejos’s film Lonesome. A 1928 masterpiece about two lonely young people who meet by chance and fall in love amid the crowds and dizzying rhythm of the Big Apple.
DJ Mesh, one of the leading creators and producers in the local hip-hop scene (Eden Derso, Cohen@Mushon), delved into the film’s emotional world and his personal discography, creating a soundtrack that moves between loneliness, excitement, and intimacy, and the city’s unceasing pulse.
Together with Barel Oved on piano and Guy Strier on guitar, he will combine samples, scratching, and live playing—and take late-1920s New York into the sound the city was yet to produce.
Come for an evening of love, beats, and the big city, under the open sky.
