Berlin Enters SYNC
Jaffa SYNC, the live-soundtrack festival in Old Jaffa, returns for a second, sparkling edition—and this year takes us on a journey between three major cities: New York, Berlin, and Tokyo, with Jaffa as the meeting point for them all.
The second evening takes us to Berlin: Otarki and Tsamit perform a live soundtrack to Walter Ruttmann’s Berlin: Symphony of a Great City.
The film follows one day in the life of Berlin and, through rhythmic, hypnotic editing, transforms the streets, trains, machines, and crowds into a pulsating cinematic symphony. This pioneering 1927 work has neither a hero nor a traditional plot, because Berlin itself is the film.
Otarki and Tsamit (Nadav Spiegel and Eran Tsamit) will take the urban rhythm on screen and accompany it with synthesizers, samples, and electronic beats, bringing the industrial Berlin of the 1920s together with the sound that decades later would become an inseparable part of its identity.
Join us for an evening of machines, beats, and a city that never stops moving, under the open sky.
When? Wednesday, 21.10.26, at 21:00
