“Monument of Leprosy” is a daring autobiographical play by Yona Wallach. After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital, Wallach tries to turn her visions and nightmares into poetry. Tadeusz, an anarchist and thief, bursts into her room and becomes her lover and fiancé. The encounter between two lost souls develops into a wild and tumultuous love story, in which passion, creativity, dependence, and power struggles destabilize the boundaries between man and woman. An intimate play for two actors, revealing the dark and thrilling world from which Wallach’s groundbreaking poetry emerged.
