A performance combining movement, video, and objects, at the Da Vinci Culture Cell in Tel Aviv–Yafo. The work explores identity and belonging between Israel and Japan.
On October 7, my life changed, and as a result I embarked on a journey between Israel and Japan that revisited questions of home, identity, and belonging. Out of this journey came a performance combining movement, video, and objects, exploring the extent to which I am still “Japanese.” Through the tension between two cultures, the work suggests viewing life not as 50/50, but as an ongoing movement of 51/49.
