Nature tour on how animals and plants prepare for winter at Rosh Tzipor, Ganei Yehoshua Park. We will learn about mushrooms, bulbs, and migratory birds.
How do animals and plants prepare for winter? Between autumn and winter, as the days grow shorter and the air gets colder, nature in the park is constantly on the move. We will learn about bulbs emerging from their summer dormancy and preparing to bloom, and search for mushrooms peeking out of the damp soil. We will also observe migratory birds stopping here for a rest on their way south, and learn how they conserve their energy during their long journey and why they stop specifically here. For ages 4+.
During the tour, we will learn to identify small signs of change in the landscape, vegetation, and animals, become familiar with the challenges they face during the change of seasons, and discover how each of them copes with the change in its own way.
