“Ethiopian Jew Alley. There I would walk in my childhood…”—thus Yaakov Orland began the Jerusalem maqama he wrote about a unique, beautiful, and historic street in the heart of Jerusalem.
We will walk among the places Orland described in his work, from a personal and intimate perspective, and also hear about the people who accompanied the poet’s life and are mentioned in it, from a personal perspective. We will also discuss the circumstances of his immigration to Israel and his arrival in Jerusalem during the Third Aliyah.
