A weekday tour of Ein Karem, from 9:00 to 14:30. The route includes two Catholic churches and the Gorny Monastery.
Ein Karem on a Weekday, 9:00–14:30
For some, Ein Karem is an artists’ village; for others, it is the traditional birthplace of John the Baptist. For me, it was a personal refuge from anxiety during the years I lived in Jerusalem. May you have such a place, too.
We will visit a village where rose jam was once made, with charming houses and winding streets.
We will visit two Catholic churches and the famous Gorny Monastery. The climb uphill will require some effort, but the surrounding beauty will make us forget our fatigue.
The starting point of the route can be reached by public transportation. There will be a proper lunch break midway through the tour. As always, I am happy to take hitchhikers from Holon with me.
Cost: 150 shekels. The group is limited to 15 participants.
