Discover the rural colony established in the heart of Jerusalem!

Saturdays as detailed below.

On this light and enjoyable tour, we will stroll through the picturesque alleys of Jerusalem’s German Colony, following its stories and people.

What will we see and learn on the tour?

We will hear how, in the second half of the 19th century, a small, close-knit group of Christians from Germany decided to leave the church and immigrate to the Land of Israel to work the land.

Were they the first Zionists? What made them leave Germany and come here? Why is there an Armenian church in the middle of the German Colony? And when Germany became Nazi, what happened to these Germans in the Land of Israel? Were Nazi flags really flown regularly in Jerusalem?

A light Saturday-morning tour, lasting about an hour and a quarter, among Jews, Armenian Christians, and German Templers, reaching as far as… Australia!

The tour guide, an expert on the German Colony, will lead you through its alleys, following its extraordinary stories, history, and architecture.
