Camille Saint-Saëns11th Piano Festival: Introductory Lectures
The 11th Piano Festival is dedicated to Camille Saint-Saëns, a composer, pianist, conductor, and author of books on philosophy, literature, and painting.
At the beginning of each meeting, viewers will hear a short story about the life and work of the famous Frenchman. Festival participants will see documentaries dedicated to Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as a silent film from 1908, for which the composer wrote the score.

The artistic director of the festival, Professor Michael Wolpe, will dedicate the beginning of each day of the festival (except Friday) to a short lecture, which will be dedicated to the works that will be performed that day. The lectures will focus on the life and work of Camille Saint-Saëns.

A short film with a selection of photographs and recordings of Saint-Saëns. -
L’Assassinat du Duc de Guise (1908)
A silent film for which Saint-Saëns was first commissioned to write a complete musical score. -
Danse Macabre (1922)
A short film inspired by the work of Saint-Saëns, created a year after the composer’s death.
