Following the great success of Lior Elmaleh’s major show in Caesarea last year, which demonstrated the power of piyyut to connect audiences, generations, and musical styles, an intriguing new artistic project is getting underway—a meeting between the world of piyyut and Selichot and Israeli rock.

The show was initiated by Eli Botbol, CEO of the Almogribia Orchestra, and international artist Lior Elmaleh—two creators seeking to connect musical worlds, cultures, and generations through a one-time encounter between the piyyutim of Selichot and Israeli rock and music.

During the evening, the Almogribia Orchestra and Lior Elmaleh will host leading Israeli rock artists and creators for special performances of Selichot piyyutim, songs inspired by the month of Elul, and beloved Israeli works, in original arrangements that combine East and West, sacred and secular, and tradition with renewal.

Participating artists

Lior Elmaleh – One of the world’s leading paytanim, artistic director of piyyut and world-music festivals, and the connecting thread of this unique show.

Efrat Gosh – One of the distinctive and moving voices in Israeli music, possessing a rare ability to bring depth and emotion to every text she performs.

Yermi Kaplan – One of the most beloved and prominent artists in Israeli rock, bringing extraordinary energy, charisma, and stage presence.

Gusto – A central creator in Israeli culture whose work deals with North African roots and engages in dialogue with Israeli culture.

Naomi Tov – A singer and creator from the classical world who connects diverse musical worlds and brings sensitivity and authenticity to the stage.
