Cremulator is the first theatrical adaptation of Sasha Filipenko’s novel, based on the original investigation files of the director of the first crematorium in the USSR.

This is the story of a man prepared to sacrifice everything—his life, his honor, and his truth—for a feeling stronger than fear and time itself. It is about love that becomes a test, and faith that drives him to walk straight into the fire. About choosing between loyalty and salvation, between the past and the future, and between duty and the heart.
The play premiered in Berlin in 2024 and was presented at the VOICES BERLIN Festival.
In 2023, Sasha Filipenko’s novel Cremulator was selected as the best European novel by the French magazine Transfuge.
