
Two-day hiking route on the Israel National Trail in the Judean Desert. Day one: descent through Dumiya Stream and Rahaf Stream, 14 challenging km. Day two: hike to Tzephira Pool and Tze’elim Stream, ending at Masada West.
Israel National Trail, Sections 33+34 – Judean Desert Campus 1 (Two Days)
On the first day, we will descend from Arad through Nahal Dumiyya, via ancient and newer water cisterns. We will cross the Kfar Hanokdim road to the Asaf Lookout, and from there descend steeply through Upper Nahal Rahaf to Kfar Hanokdim.
On the second day, we will walk to Tze’fira Pool, look out over the high and impressive waterfall, and walk above the deep and steep channel of Nahal Tze’elim. We will cross Nahal Anava and connect directly to the Masada West site, with a constant view of the Dead Sea.
