Step back more than 2,000 years as licensed Israeli tour guide Sharon Goldfarb brings the extraordinary story of Caesarea to life. Once a magnificent port city built by Herod and named in honor of Augustus Caesar, Caesarea has witnessed the rise and fall of empires across the centuries. Walk among the remains of the Roman theater, ancient harbor and impressive fortifications, while uncovering the stories of the people, cultures and events that shaped one of Israel’s most remarkable archaeological sites. With more than four decades of experience exploring Israel’s history, archaeology, landscapes and cultures, Sharon will take us beyond the ancient stones to discover the fascinating stories behind them. After our exploration, we’ll continue together to the Taj Restaurant in Or Akiva for a delicious Indian lunch and a relaxed end to the day.
