A musical play about a singer named Omer who dreams of the big stage. The production features songs by Shlomi Shabat.
Omer loves singing more than anything in the world. Behind the counter of the family falafel stand, where he helps his father and sings nonstop, tossing falafel balls and putting customers in a good mood, he carries a dream in his heart that sounds louder than any chord: to step onto a real big stage. When he hears about auditions at the city’s Youth Theater, he feels that this is the very opportunity he has dreamed of for so long, and his cherished goal is closer than ever.
But reality is not as simple as dreams. The fear of missing his opportunity and his relentless desire to succeed drive him to hide an important secret about his identity. This draws him into a whirlwind of wrong decisions that make the situation worse and hurt those closest to him. The play reveals the drama of the clash between fulfilling a personal dream and family responsibility, asking the question: What is true luck? Through music, mistakes, and love, Omer learns that true talent begins with honesty, and that together we can overcome any obstacle.
This performance is a musical journey through the beloved songs of ACUM Award winner, singer, and songwriter Shlomi Shabat: “Let Me Grow Up in Peace,” “And I Sing,” “Because of the Wind,” “Dad,” and other hits that have accompanied us for many years—moving, comforting, and bringing joy to the hearts of people of all ages and backgrounds, uniting us in one vibrant Israeli musical story.
