A theatrical drama about love, family secrets, and self-identity. The performance in Hebrew lasts 3 hours and 15 minutes, with an intermission.
A story of pure and touching love between a Jewish student of German origin and a beautiful young woman from an Arab family turns into a drama of truly epic proportions when the young couple find themselves at the center of a terrorist attack in Israel.
The young man’s serious injury brings him together again with his father—a former Israeli who has long lived in Germany. His father married a German woman who converted to Judaism and categorically rejects his son’s relationship. As the young man struggles to recover, his father is forced to confront a long-standing family rift—the painful relationship between his own mother and father. A terrible secret kept by the family for many years once drove him to leave his homeland and may now change the fate of all its members forever.
This is a large-scale, emotionally charged drama and, at the same time, a captivating journey filled with unexpected twists, in search of the true essence of its characters in a world where origin and self-identification often determine a person’s fate.
And yet the story’s finale offers hope and once again inspires belief in human brotherhood.
The play premiered in France with the participation of Israeli and French actors. It was later presented in various countries around the world and received widespread public and media attention.
