A new Israeli comedy play—a vibrant theatrical adaptation of the popular web series that captured viewers’ hearts. The production is based on the cult web series and preserves the spirit of the original while giving it a lively stage presence.
The play tells the story of Makabit, a teacher and school counselor at a girls’ ulpan, and her ex-husband, Hanael, who works at the same school. Makabit recently divorced Hanael and suddenly discovers that he has started dating a young woman studying at the ulpan. He faces a choice: stay with his new partner or leave his job in order to restore their relationship.
Meanwhile, a friend from the teachers’ room stages a “soft revolution” for Makabit: she creates a profile for her on a dating app, drawing the heroine into a new and unpredictable world. Makabit’s new life throws Hanael off balance—and a question arises: is a new union possible that will dispel the romantic misunderstandings?
The playwrights are Hen Rotman and Oshrit Sarusi, known as the creators of the cult web series Zot Ve-Zoti.
Director: Udi Gotshalk.
