Beit Lessin Theatre: "Everyone's Birds"

A poetic political drama for only 50 performances: An innocent love story between a Jewish student of German descent and a beautiful Arab student becomes a drama when the couple is caught in a terrorist attack in Israel. A larger-than-life drama that is also a journey in search of the protagonists’ true identities, in a world where identity determines fate. All leading to a surprising ending that inspires renewed faith in human solidarity.

An innocent love story between a Jewish student of German descent and a beautiful Arab student becomes a larger-than-life drama when the couple is caught in a terrorist attack in Israel. The young man’s severe injury brings him together with his father, a former Israeli who lives in Germany and is vehemently opposed to his son’s relationship. Until his son recovers, the father also confronts the bitter relationship between his mother and his own father—a terrible secret she harbors caused him to leave the country and will change the fate of this troubled family. A larger-than-life drama that is also a journey in search of the protagonists’ true identities, in a world where identity determines fate. All leading to a surprising ending that inspires renewed faith in human solidarity.

The play premiered in France, featuring Israeli and French actors. It later opened around the world and received extensive media attention.
