A bitter comedy by Maya Hefner: Ada, widow of the revered theater figure Shmuel Hamarshalag, is busy preparing an evening of tribute in his memory, but encounters financial difficulties. The only person who offers to finance the event is Rachel Bloch, the deceased’s mistress. Ada is torn between her desire to hold the event and the revulsion she feels toward Rachel. The two divas engage in a cruel battle over the dead man’s memory, during which all the demons of the past awaken.
Her excitement turns to despair when it becomes clear that financial difficulties threaten the event’s existence. Rachel Bloch, a former stage star and the deceased’s mistress, offers Ada full financing for the event, in return for which she demands to stand at its center. Ada is torn between her desire to hold the dazzling event and even shine in it, and the revulsion she feels toward her eternal enemy.
