A theater play about three Friday dinners in a family from the Gaza Envelope. The play is at the Habima Theatre in Tel Aviv; the performance date was not specified.
A glimpse into three Friday-night dinners held in the home of a family living in the Gaza border area, in the final moments before the country changes beyond recognition. With sensitivity and humor, family dramas, fateful decisions, and plenty of love are revealed, as the characters grapple with life in a country where even simple actions are sometimes endlessly challenging.
The new young resident dramaturg and playwright of Habima Theatre, Yotam Gotal, and the intriguing director Ariel N. Wolf attempt to explore through the play the fate of the small, everyday joys when the reality outside is so threatening—and whether family is our only anchor in dark and complex times.
