An interdisciplinary artistic evening of dance, cinema, and live sound at Tmuna Theater, Tel Aviv. The work combines a video-dance film and a live performance.
In Zen Buddhism, Satori describes a brief, sudden moment of awakening—a release from mental attachment and a perception of reality as it is.
SATORI is an interdisciplinary artistic evening inviting the audience to enter the world of the film—a world moving between dance, cinema, and live sound. The evening opens with a screening of the video dance film SATORI—an energetic and sensory 12-minute work following a figure moving through forest spaces as part of a process of healing, transformation, and a shift in consciousness.
From the world of the screen, the evening continues into the physical stage: a live dialogue between choreographer and dancer Ella Semo’s movement and the analog sound world and live setup of musician and sound artist Omer Hershman. Together, they carry the sensations of the film into a live, exposed, and changing stage space.
The film SATORI has been screened and recognized at international festivals.
Omer Hershman / Walking State was nominated for an Ophir Award for Original Music and won the Best Music Award at the Docaviv Festival. He has performed at international festivals, including Sziget Festival in Hungary, and Walking States at the National Library of Israel in Jerusalem.
