Chef Noam Amir, a meteor in the local culinary scene, falls into debt just before opening his new bistro in Paris. Noam’s late father, Moshiko—the owner of the legendary “Moshiko the Great Hummus Restaurant”—appears before him and makes him an offer he cannot refuse. Noam thus finds himself returning to his childhood home, to the family he left behind, and to the hummus restaurant he hates so much. A witty, funny, moving—and mouthwatering—play!
The play was first presented as a staged reading at the “Here and Now” Festival 2021 at the Cameri Theatre.
The production was supported by the Yona Ettinger–Howard Gilman Foundation.
