A dance and theater performance about two characters on a raft, in its Israeli premiere at Tmuna Theater in Tel Aviv. The work combines text, video, and maritime practices.
Two figures on a raft, wishing to create a folk dance without a people. As they shed concepts of nationalism—which, in the context of the blood-soaked Mediterranean and the ongoing crises from which they come, they see as utterly destructive—their journey confronts them with questions about their identities as dancers, as women in the digital age, and as human beings experiencing a profound rupture in their notions of home and belonging.
The work combines dance, text, video, and maritime practices, weaving local contemporary reality into a simultaneously poetic and absurd stage language.
