The play “Monument to Leprosy” is an intimate love story about the poet Yona Wallach and the anarchist Tadeusz. Duration: 1 hour.
“Monument to Leprosy” is a bold autobiographical play by Israeli poet Yona Wallach. After leaving a psychiatric hospital, Wallach tries to transform her visions and nightmares into poetry. One day, Tadeusz—an anarchist and thief who is destined to become her lover and fiancé—bursts into her room.
The encounter between two lost souls develops into a wild, dizzying love story, in which passion and creativity, dependence and the struggle for power blur the boundaries between man and woman.
This intimate play for two actors opens a door into the dark and mesmerizing world from which Wallach’s innovative, daring poetry emerged.
