Fashion design class for girls and boys in grades 4–6, on Wednesdays from October through July at Beit Barakat. Participants will design, sew, and present their creations.
Fashion Design Course for Girls and Boys
There are clothes we look for but cannot find, perhaps because they have not yet been designed in our own way. In the fashion design course, we will learn how to turn ideas into clothes we would like to wear—clothes we will illustrate, design, cut, and sew ourselves.
In a weekly session, we will explore the world of fashion design through illustration, sewing, embroidery, textile printing, dyeing, and working with different materials. We will learn to identify sources of inspiration, develop a personal design language, and create original garments—from the first idea to the finished piece.
Throughout the year, we will work with curiosity, creative freedom, and collaboration. At the end of the year, we will present our designs in a festive fashion show and exhibition for parents and friends.
I am excited to meet the new designers who will join the fashion design course at Beit Barakat. See you in the studio!
