Visual theater workshop for children on Sundays, starting October 4, 2026, at Liebling Haus in Tel Aviv. Creating characters, masks, sets, and worlds.
The Visual Theater Workshop is a highly diverse workshop centered on creating a character and building an entire world around it. Each child develops their own character: its personality, story, and “identity card.” Based on the character, they begin building the world in which it exists.
The process may begin with the character’s mask and continue with building scenery, models, lighting, objects, photography, short videos, and more. Since every character and the world it brings with it are different, the working techniques also vary. The children will experiment with sculpture, papier-mâché, printmaking, model building, video editing, and more, according to the idea they develop.
The instructors accompany the children throughout the process, from the initial idea through to its execution, with plenty of examples, demonstrations, and practical tools. The goal is not only to create a finished product, but also to give the children the experience of a complete creative process—to understand how an idea gradually becomes a project that can be seen and experienced.
This is also what makes the workshop so open and enabling: there is room to try, change, invent, and discover while working. Ultimately, the children leave with a diverse creative toolkit, and above all, with a sense of capability—that they can take an idea they have in their heads and build something tangible from it.
Led by siblings Adam and Ayar Elazar—Adam is a sculptor and Ayar is a dancer. Together they create works combining sculpture, masks, costumes, movement, and visual theater.
Sundays, 16:30–18:00, starting October 4, 2026
Workshop duration: 9 months.
Monthly registration is available at a price of NIS 288.
