Culinary tour of Levinsky Market and HaMesila Park in Tel Aviv-Yafo, with Balkan tastings, spices, sabich, kubbeh, cheeses, and street art.
Want to taste the most Balkan market in the country? Would you like to combine tastings from around the world with the story of one of the country’s most colorful markets? Interested in combining cuisine and street art?
You’re invited to the Levinsky Plus tour of Levinsky Market and the Mesila Park with Dudi Bar-Sela!
We’ll begin the tour at Levinsky Market, the undisputed market of Balkan immigrants. We’ll tell the story of the market and its stalls, combining it with tastings of Balkan filo bourekas made with a Greek recipe. We’ll explore the world of spices, especially prominent in this market, with worthwhile and surprising tastings. We’ll learn the story of a Balkan delicatessen, connected to the initiative of a couple of Holocaust survivors, and taste amazing Balkan stuffed dishes such as peppers stuffed with cheese, stuffed grape leaves, and a variety of Balkan cheeses and dips.
We’ll combine the Balkan world with a unique sabich tasting, Kurdish Jerusalem kubbeh, and even sweets made in America—or at least American-style.
After all the tastings, we’ll walk off some of the food with a unique stroll through Mesila Park, hearing the story of the park and the railway to Jerusalem, and viewing the street art along its route.
You’re invited to a culinary experience with added value!
