Gal de Paz returns to the “Blues Sukkot Festival 2026” after her notable performances over the past two years. Since she was last here, Gal has become even more popular. Her performances always drew full houses, and audiences left rave reviews. Since then, her recognition in Israel has grown significantly thanks to her participation in the television show “The Next Star,” where she boldly demonstrated her talents in various genres.
After such success, it will be especially interesting to see her return to the small stage and to the blues. In the Divas of Blues programs, Gal immerses herself in the world of pioneering women of blues and soul who used their music to express protest against oppression and their yearning for freedom. From Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith to Nina Simone, Etta James, Koko Taylor, Big Mama Thornton, and Aretha Franklin—each contributed to the development of the blues and influenced subsequent generations of musicians.
With her powerful and unique voice, Gal de Paz gives these songs a distinctive sound while remaining faithful to the spirit of the originals. She accompanies herself on piano, and guitarist Omer Elias from The Paz Band will perform alongside her. Their performance promises to be a rich musical dialogue between voice, piano, and guitar.
Gal de Paz is a renowned singer, songwriter, and pianist who stands out on Israel’s music scene thanks to her talent. This project brings together her extensive musical experience: from performing at the Israeli Opera at the age of ten and recording a solo album in Hebrew produced by Louis Lahav, to working with The Paz Band and Lucille Crew, opening for Aerosmith at Yarkon Park, and collaborating with artists including Shalom Hanoch, Dudu Tassa, Guy Mazig, the band Rockfour, Peter Roth, and others.
