The cult and electrifying ensemble Blues & Booze arrives at the Blues Festival—this time with Rachel Salfín, a soul singer with a powerful voice and commanding stage presence, remembered by Shablul audiences for her appearances with Gal de Paz and Lazer Lloyd.
Together, they will perform classic blues, as well as blues-rock and rock ’n’ roll that grew out of the blues, in a show prepared especially for the festival.
The quintet will demonstrate the deep connection between the blues and rock: from B.B. King, Nina Simone, and Aretha Franklin, through Janis Joplin, to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Rolling Stones—all created music with the blues in its DNA, and from this foundation continued in new directions that changed the face of popular music.

For 14 years, Blues & Booze have been living and breathing the sounds and spirit of the 1960s and ’70s. The band, which leads one of Tel Aviv’s longest-running live-music series, is known for the dedication and authenticity with which it recreates the warm, raw, and electrifying sound of the era. It regularly performs throughout Israel in tribute shows to the giants of blues and rock ’n’ roll.
