A family birdwatching tour at sunset in September, in a park in Ramat Gan. Identify birds, learn about migration, and use binoculars.
The school routine is beginning and the holiday season is just around the corner, making this the perfect time to embark on an enriching and values-based adventure, disconnect from screens, and connect with nature—right close to home.
Families are invited to a special birdwatching tour, where together we will discover the rich and fascinating world of wildlife hidden in the urban environment during this year’s transitional season. September is an exciting month in Tel Aviv’s nature, bringing encounters with our local birds, anticipation of the first flocks of migratory birds, and an opportunity to learn how nature prepares for seasonal changes and the beginning of autumn.
During the tour, we will head outdoors during the pleasant hours of the day and learn how to observe our surroundings with a new and deeper perspective. Binoculars will be provided for all participants, and we will learn how to use them properly before setting out to identify the birds visiting us this season. We will hear fascinating stories about the behavior of birds, learn to identify their calls and songs, and gain a deeper understanding of how they adapt and prepare for long migratory journeys and changing weather conditions. We will discover the secrets of local ecology, acquire basic observation skills, identify field signs, and deepen our familiarity with the natural environment around us.
Participants will receive bird guides as a gift, as well as binoculars for the tour.
