Evening tour of Jaffa with a boat trip on September 25. Narrow streets, galleries, landmarks, and a view of Tel Aviv.
Departure date:
September 25 — Friday
Excursion price:
225 shekels + 45 shekels for the boat trip
Aboard a pleasure boat, amid the maze of streets and alleyways, and through gallery windows, we will capture the moment when the setting sun paints Jaffa orange.
We will set out on a sea cruise from the port of Jaffa, one of the oldest ports in the world. We will pass stones protruding from the water—the remains of the monster that Perseus turned to stone while rescuing Andromeda. Nothing awakens our passion for life and spirit of adventure like the open sea and the fresh wind in our faces!
The sun sets, Jaffa awakens, and wants to share its legends and stories, Yemeni coffee with hawaij, and pomegranate wine.
We will take a stroll through magical evening Jaffa. Calling the Zodiac Alleyways a stone labyrinth would be an exaggeration. Yet every meter surprises, delights, and enchants. We will try to rock the Wishing Tree and stop at the Wishing Bridge. It is said that if you touch your zodiac sign on this bridge and make a wish, it will definitely come true. We will also enjoy an incredible view of evening Tel Aviv.
Jaffa is home to a concentration of studios and galleries belonging to artists, musicians, and sculptors—both world-famous and just starting out. Many will be happy to show us their work.
Once darkness falls, illuminated by evening lights, the tower of Sultan Abdul Hamid II, Jama el-Bahr, the two Serayis, Abu Nabuta’s Sabil, and the Arch of Faith will look like scenes from a fairy tale.
We will see the Church of Saint Peter the Apostle, the Monastery of the Archangel Michael, and the house of Simon the Tanner. Slightly away from the main attractions are the less famous but highly appealing Ajami neighborhood, Jerusalem Boulevard, and the American Colony.
The excursion takes place in the evening and includes a boat trip and an easy walking tour.
