Our route will pass through the green heart of the city—along the Yarkon River and its parks.

We will be the first to travel this route as a genuine water journey, rather than a short attraction.

An entire hour on the water is not merely an excursion, but a small journey in which the city will reveal itself from a new side, as though we were discovering it for the first time.

This is one of those rare occasions when Tel Aviv allows you to feel that it, too, can be green.

Along the way, we will discover a completely different world—lively and unexpectedly rich.

Kingfishers shining with blue fire perch on the branches; motionless herons search for prey at the water’s edge; turtles bask on the rocks.

From this side, Tel Aviv looks different: a city accustomed to hurrying is reflected in the water, calm and welcoming.

We will almost reach the sea—the air will carry the scent of salt and a light breeze.

The most enjoyable activity in Yarkon Park is a walk on the water!

Afterward, we will head to the green corners of Ganei Yehoshua, each of which is unique:

1. Rock Garden

   Here, boulders and fragments of rock from all over Israel have been gathered—from Mount Hermon to Eilat. There are 50 types of stone! Some boulders look like solitary figures, while others resemble a couple of lovers or a group engaged in conversation. It feels as though the stones are holding a “dialogue” with the skyscrapers, while the Japanese idea of the stone as the crown of creation is especially vivid here.

2. Cactus Garden

   Twenty-six dunams of delight, home to 55,000 cacti and succulents.

3. Garden of Prudence

   Also known as the “trimmed garden,” where you can admire an exact copy of the mosaic from the ancient Beit Alpha synagogue, featuring a zodiac circle.

4. Tropical Garden

   An island of humid, multi-level tropical forest. Vines wind around the trees, while winding paths heighten the feeling of being in a jungle.

Each park offers its own atmosphere—from the monumental power of the rocks to the living energy of the tropics.

A unique place rightly called a “city within a city”—the Diamond Exchange.

Here, austere office façades stand alongside display windows sparkling with diamonds. There are workshops where stones are cut and polished, as well as a trading hall.

A visit to the Diamond Exchange is a small discovery within the big city, showing how Tel Aviv combines business, commercial energy, and unique professions in one space.

We will spend lunchtime in the Sarona quarter and will be able to replenish our energy at the Sarona Market food market.

We will finish the day in the “Lev Tel Aviv” quarter.

It was here, in the 1920s, when Tel Aviv was just beginning to transform from a settlement among sandy hills into a real city, that the first “dream houses” appeared—as the most impressive and ambitious residential buildings were called at the time.

These buildings were constructed by people who dreamed not merely of a roof over their heads, but of European beauty—a house “like in Paris or Vienna.” Their façades were decorated with turrets, balustrades, arches, and ornamental stucco, often in an eclectic style in which East and West intertwined in a single silhouette.

Without suitcases or passport control, we will be able to give ourselves a day “abroad”—a day of pleasure, lightness, and discoveries, in Tel Aviv style.
