A New Melody – Band Together (Spain)
Synopsis: Two years after tragedy strikes, the residents of a quiet fishing village on the coast of Spain decide to revive the village’s traditional orchestra and enter the annual regional orchestra competition. With no other choice, and in the absence of the orchestra’s conductor, his 18-year-old daughter Andrea is chosen to lead the musicians. To everyone’s surprise, and despite a beginning filled with doubts, Andrea manages to rekindle the orchestra’s hopes through an unusual combination of traditional playing and modern rhythms—but just when it seems that the villagers are finally finding their rhythm, surprising revelations about the disaster threaten to tear them apart, this time for good.
A New Melody is a colorful, heartwarming comedy-drama musical set along the beautiful coastline of Galicia in northern Spain. It is filled with traditional Spanish music, lively and amusing humor, and plenty of soul.
