Young Washington

Lecture with Kobi Hovav + Screening of the Film Young Washington

One evening. One lecture. One film that suddenly gains much greater depth.

Lecturer: Kobi Hovav
Film: Young Washington

Tarbutta comes to the cinema with a new format that combines two worlds we love: we begin with 40 minutes of a fascinating lecture by Kobi Hovav, which will introduce us to the story, period, and characters behind the film—and immediately afterward, a screening of Young Washington.

Lecture Summary

This was supposed to be the New World, but the problems were old and familiar: money, status, land, and control.

A dramatic journey into the world of young Washington, in which a local struggle in the Ohio Valley ignited a global war and heralded the birth of a nation.

Film Summary

Two hundred and fifty years of history begin with one man.

Before he became the father of his nation, George Washington was a young soldier fighting to survive. One fatal mistake places him at the heart of a global conflict and tests his honor, loyalty, and courage.

As alliances collapse and the front burns, Washington must confront not only his enemies, but also the changes within himself.

This is the untold story of young Washington.

Cast: Emmy Award winner Kelsey Grammer, Oscar nominee Andy Serkis, and Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley.

Coming soon to cinemas.

One ticket includes the lecture and the film screening.
