Nachalim, the Hadera Tourism Development Company, and the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel invite you to fascinating family tours during the Sukkot holiday intermediate days at Hadera River Park!

The spectacular park is located in the northern part of the coastal strip, at the river’s estuary, and serves as a unique and exceptional example of rehabilitating rivers with natural, scenic, heritage, and ecological value.

The park features beautiful lawns and picnic seating areas, a children’s playground, a eucalyptus grove, and a palm-lined avenue leading to stairs descending to the pier. A pedestrian bridge, the “Harp Bridge,” crosses the river, offering views of the water flowing from the river to the sea and of the Orot Rabin Power Station. We will begin our journey at the Yad Avshalom Station, where we will hear the fascinating story of Avshalom Feinberg, the Nili underground, and the arrival of the British in Palestine. From there, we will cross the impressive cable-stayed bridge, learn about the river’s rehabilitation and the rich wildlife and vegetation in the area, continue with a fascinating explanation of the power station’s operations and the nearby desalination facility, and conclude with a glimpse of the amazing shark phenomenon. The sharks arrive mainly in winter to enjoy the warm water discharged from the power station into the river estuary.

The tours depart every hour on the hour and require advance registration for a nominal fee.
