Lecture on the trance community after October 7, on Sunday, 11/10/2026, at 20:00, at 22 Dam HaMaccabim Street. With Nadi Nachimov.
Dancing Through the Fragments — A personal journey alongside the trance community, from the deep rupture of October 7 to insights for tomorrow
This evening is dedicated to the memory of neighborhood residents who were murdered at the Nova Festival: Amit Ben-Avida, of blessed memory; Yonatan Samrano, of blessed memory; and Maor Gartziani, of blessed memory.
The events of October 7 shook the entire country, but the trance community found itself at the heart of the disaster, on the dance floor. It was the most difficult and painful crisis in the history of this culture, in Israel and around the world.
In this lecture, we will speak openly and candidly about what has happened since and how the community is coping with the psychological and social challenges. We will analyze the profound changes we are experiencing—what has improved, what has deteriorated, the attitude of the establishment and society in Israel, and the complexities of our relationship with the world. We will also examine what happened musically: Did new styles emerge from the event? Is there a noticeable difference or connection to other music on the dance floors?
This is a story about people, about the power of community as a safety net, and about how to find the strength to get back up, grow stronger, and care for ourselves from the lowest place imaginable.
Nadi Nahimov has been active in the trance community for more than 30 years—as a DJ, owner of record labels and artist agencies, party producer, and opinion leader. At the same time, he has many years of experience as a teacher and educator at a special-education school.
In his lectures, Nadi shares, in an inspiring way, various details, insights, and stories related to trance music and culture, from its beginnings to the present day, touching the very heart of this fascinating culture in a way no one has done before.
