A lecture by Ilana Dayan about behind the scenes of “Uvda,” at Gray Modi'in, Modi'in. It will address the pursuit of truth, dilemmas, and stories from recent years.
How do we uncover the truth and establish the facts? How do we find the way to ask the difficult questions, too? How do we tell Israel’s story over the past three years—the story of the wars we have endured, the story of the heroes, and the trauma? And what has remained deep in Ilana’s heart from the people she met and the stories she has told over the years?
In this meeting, Ilana Dayan takes us behind the scenes of Uvda. She shares dramatic stories, difficult dilemmas, exposed and less-exposed moments, and reveals what the work of an investigative journalist looks like—someone who tries both to move us and to tell the truth about the reality of our lives. Don’t miss it!
Ilana Dayan has been broadcasting on radio and television since she joined the Israel Defense Forces as a young soldier in Galei Tzahal. There, she served as a foreign-news editor and political and parliamentary correspondent, hosted the morning news program, and simultaneously completed her law studies.
Since Channel 2 began broadcasting, she has hosted the investigative program Uvda, now the longest-running program on television, broadcast on Keshet 12.
