What happens when a German girl grows up in Jerusalem in the mid-19th century, living and experiencing the city for nearly nine decades? We will hear about the mutual influence between Jerusalem’s small German community and Ottoman Jerusalem, and vice versa… through the eyes of Lydia Schick: the first chairwoman of the German community, a writer and researcher, and daughter of Conrad Schick—the man who studied and built Jerusalem.
