11:30–12:30 — Leading Change: Women and Leadership in the Zionist Movement
The Zionist movement and the State of Israel produced several prominent women leaders. What distinguished the Zionist movement in its attitude toward women leaders? How did women reach positions of leadership and influence? The lecture will examine these questions through the lives of prominent women who fought for their place in leadership, such as Esther Raziel-Naor, a commander in the Irgun; Tova Sanhedrai-Goldreich, one of the leaders of Hapoel HaMizrachi; and, of course, Golda Meir.
