10:00–11:00 On Dreams, Identity, Courage, and the Intergenerational Chain
How can the yearnings of generations be transformed into a powerful physical journey, and how can family leadership overcome even the most difficult crises? This lecture will explore the longing and yearning of Ethiopian Jews for Zion, and parental leadership through the eyes of children during the turbulent and unique journey to the Holy Land. We will also hear about adaptation to Israeli society and the shared challenge faced by parents and children during the crises of integration in Israel.
Lecturer: Shale-Argay Wubbo — born in Ethiopia, deputy commander of a special unit in the IDF, and involved in managing programs promoting young people from Israel’s social periphery.

11:30–12:30 Leadership as a Choice: The Responsibility to See the Individual and the Community

Through stories and insights from the worlds of education and social entrepreneurship, we will examine how leadership is expressed in small moments of decision, commitment to a path, and courageous action.
Lecturer: Dvir Klein, CEO of “Merhavim – Education for Values,” an organization that operates programs for youth who have dropped out of school.
Meeting point: Yad Ben-Zvi — 14 Ibn Gabirol Street
