At the final meeting of the course, we will discuss “home” as the most emotionally charged subject in local artistic creation. For Israeli art, home is often an object of longing, displacement, or constant searching. We will try to carefully touch upon the events of October 7, which redefined the fragility of the Israeli home, and examine how contemporary artists grapple with the concept of the “mobile home”—one that is built not of stone, but of memories, objects, and language.
Through the works of leading male and female artists, we will conclude the course with an echoing question: Have we found a home?
Meeting point: Yad Ben-Zvi – 14 Ibn Gabirol Street
