On this light and enjoyable tour, we will stroll through the picturesque alleys of Jerusalem’s German Colony, following its stories and people.
We will hear how, in the second half of the 19th century, a small, close-knit group of Christians from Germany decided to leave the church and immigrate to the Land of Israel to work the land.
Were they the first Zionists? What made them leave Germany and come here? Why is there an Armenian church in the middle of the German Colony? And when Germany became Nazi, what happened to these Germans in the Land of Israel? Were Nazi flags really flown regularly in Jerusalem?
